AH Fox BE Grade 12 Gauge English stock Late B Grade
$SOLD

Sale Pending    AH Fox Late style BE 12 Gauge shotgun.  Serial number is 30003 and the year of manufacture is circa 1925.  Features include factory straight English style stock, 30 inch Chromox barrels and ejectors.  This was obviously made as a heavy water fowl shotgun as the barrels are heavy and choked full and full with 3 inch chambers.  Condition is very nice as partially restored.  The barrels retail nerly all of a high quality restoration.  They are straight with no damage or alterations.  The bores are excellent but do have just a hint of frost near the chambers.   We don't believe that they were ever polished or had the chokes altered as they are still full extra full.  The chambers might have been lengthened to 3 inches but this was also an opton from Fox at that time so there is a chance that they are original. The receiver is mostly silver with sharp engraving and has not been refinished.  The original straight stock and fore end have been nicely restored with the checkering being refreshed as well.  The stock really does have a very pretty lighter fancy grain to it.  This shotgun is tight and mechnically in great shape including the ejectors and automatic safety.  The dimensions are great for shooting;  Drop at heel is 2 3/8 inches, drop at comb is 1 3/8 inches.  Length of pull is 14 inches from the front trigger over an older Pachmayr pad.  Weight is right on 8 pounds.  You don't see many of these Late B grade Foxes as production of this grade was quite low.
