Offered is a Near MINT all original Colt Lightning pump action rifle serial number 83668 made in 1898.  Caliber is 38-40 WCF and the barrel length is 26 inch octagon.   This fine original Colt is perhaps the BEST original condition Lightning that you will find.  All metal and wood finishes are at least 98%.  The early high polish Colt blue is stunning to look at as is the Rampant Colt Logo on the left side of the receiver.  Great fire blue on the screws and nearly all the case color on the hammer. The bore is a MINT, 10 out of 10.  The original stock and fore end have never been re-oiled and and have only a very few and light handling marks.  The original sights are present which include a globe front sight, original rear sight and proper tang rear sight.  This is a museum quality original Colt lightning rifle.  It cannot be improved upon.  We have not seen a better original.  Antique No FFL Required
