Offered is an excellent vintage Merkel 203E over under 12 gauge shotgun.  The serial number is 69645 and the date of manufacture is July 1968.  This is a very pretty and highly featured up Merkel 203E.  Features include highly engraved detachable side locks, original straight English style stock, ejectors, and double triggers.  The barrels are 28 inches in length and are choked Mod & Full.  The length of pull from the front trigger over the original Merkel hard rubber butt late is 14 1/4.   Shooting dimensions are great.  Drop at heel is 2 1/2 and drop and comb is 1 1/2.  Weight is light, at just over 7 pounds.  Condition is excellent as lightly used over the years.  The action is tight.  The bores are excellent and the ejectors work as they should.  There is evidence of sling mounts having been removed from the butt stock and barrel rib as pictured.  This was done nicely and detracts very little from this high end O/U shotgun.  This is a fantastic Merkel 203E 12 gauge from 1968!
